Quick answer

Mobile se GST bill kaise banaye? You need a billing app, your business details, and about two minutes. Open the app, add your customer, add your items with the GST rate, then save the bill and send it on WhatsApp. No computer, no Excel and no printer needed.

Get the Udyog app on Google Play. You can also start from your browser at app.udyogbook.in. Udyog has a 14-day free trial.

What you need before you start

  • •Your business name, address and GSTIN.
  • •Your customer's name, and their GSTIN if they are a registered business.
  • •Your items with price, quantity, HSN code and GST rate.

If you do not know the HSN code or GST rate of an item, search it in our free HSN code finder. You can also use the GST calculator to check the tax amount on a price.

5 steps to make a GST bill on your mobile

Step 1: Install the app and add your business

Install Udyog from Google Play and sign up. Enter your business name, address and GSTIN once. They print on every bill after that.

Step 2: Start a new invoice

Open the app and tap the option to create a new invoice. Choose a GST invoice if you are a GST-registered business.

Step 3: Add the customer

Pick a customer from your list, or add a new one. For a business customer, add their GSTIN. The app uses the state to work out whether the bill needs CGST and SGST (same state) or IGST (different state).

Step 4: Add items with the GST rate

Add each item with its quantity, price, HSN code and GST rate. Check the rate for your product on the HSN code finder. Rates changed on 22 September 2025, so see what changed in the new GST rates if you are not sure.

Step 5: Save and share on WhatsApp

Check the total, save the bill, and share the PDF on WhatsApp or email in one tap. The bill is saved in the app, so you can find it later.

What a GST bill must contain

Under Rule 46 of the CGST Rules, a tax invoice must show these details. A good billing app fills most of them in for you.

  • •Your name, address and GSTIN.
  • •A unique invoice number and the invoice date.
  • •The customer's name, address and GSTIN (if registered).
  • •Description of the goods or services.
  • •HSN code for goods, or SAC code for services.
  • •Quantity and unit.
  • •Taxable value after discount.
  • •GST rate and the tax amount, split as CGST and SGST, or IGST.
  • •Place of supply, if the sale is to another state.
  • •Your signature or digital signature.

The invoice number can have up to 16 characters, and it must be unique in the financial year. How many HSN digits you need depends on your turnover. See HSN code digits in a GST invoice: 4 or 6.

Use your voice to make a bill

Udyog has Maya, a voice billing assistant. You can say what you sold and to whom, and Maya prepares the bill for you to check and save. It helps when your hands are busy at the shop.

Common mistakes when you make a GST bill on mobile

  • •Using the wrong GST rate because the item rate was not updated.
  • •Charging CGST and SGST on a bill to another state, where IGST applies.
  • •Leaving the customer's GSTIN empty on a business bill, so the customer cannot claim input tax credit.
  • •Using a duplicate invoice number.
  • •Forgetting the HSN code on an item.

Why use an app instead of Excel or a paper book

  • •The tax is calculated for you, so there are fewer mistakes.
  • •Invoice numbers continue in order on their own.
  • •Your bills are safe and searchable, even if your phone is lost.
  • •You can share the bill in seconds.
  • •Your sales data is ready for your CA at return time.
